Position Title: Early Childhood Intervention Coordinator

Salary: Certified Salary Schedule, $50,500-$76,760 starting
Position Overview
The Early Childhood Intervention Coordinator is a dynamic role designed to support Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students with developmental delays that impact social, emotional, behavioral, communication, and cognitive abilities. This position is integral to creating a robust program that supports students, families, and staff while building capacity across the district and region. The Coordinator will provide direct services, family engagement opportunities, and strategic leadership to ensure all students thrive.
The role also focuses on bridging the school district with local families of children aged birth to 8, fostering connections, promoting health and wellness, and promoting kindergarten readiness aligned with Oregon's Early Learning standards.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support and Program Development
- Provide direct intervention and support services to PK-2 students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education and special education teachers, as well as administrative staff, to design inclusive and effective student support programs.
- Develop and implement strategies that address the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
- Build program and workforce capacity to support diverse learners, with an emphasis on integrating evidence-based practices and early childhood development principles.
- Implement data systems that utilize varied data to inform instructional practices, guide workforce development, and drive continuous improvement processes.
Family Engagement and Community Connection
- Facilitate parenting groups and workshops for families with children aged birth to 8, offering resources and strategies to support developmental growth.
- Coordinate home-based and in-person learning opportunities for families to reinforce early learning and kindergarten readiness skills.
- Build and nurture connections between families, fostering a supportive community network among parents of similarly aged children.
- Partner with local organizations to create wrap-around support services, including access to health, mental health, and developmental resources.
Strategic Leadership
- Work with the Superintendent to develop the vision, mission, outcomes, and strategies for the early childhood intervention program.
- Lead the implementation of the identified strategic plan, including program development, delivery, and evaluation.
- Identify and pursue sustainable funding opportunities to support and grow the program.
- Serve as a liaison between the district and regional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with community needs and Oregon Early Learning standards.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with young children with developmental disabilities, autism, or related needs.
- Demonstrated experience in program development; family engagement; curriculum, assessment and evaluation design; and navigating social determinants of health resource systems.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development, special education practices, and Oregon Early Learning standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with diverse families.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and to secure funding for sustainability and/or expansion.
- Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for all students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in facilitating parent education and support groups.
- Background in early childhood special education or developmental psychology.
- Familiarity with wrap-around service models and trauma-informed practices.
Working Conditions
- Position may involve travel within the region to connect with families and community partners.
- Occasional evening or weekend commitments to accommodate family schedules.
