Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Teaching License with Elementary Multiple Subjects endorsement
- Preferred endorsements: Early Childhood Education and/or Special Education
- Knowledge of evidence-based literacy, numeracy, and early childhood instructional practices
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including students experiencing disability, trauma, and behavioral or social-emotional challenges
General Responsibilities
Our Kindergarten Teacher plays a vital role, building the foundational academic, social-emotional, and relational skills that support life-long learning. Mapleton School District seeks educators who believe all students can grow, belong, and succeed.
Responsibilities include:
- Create a welcoming, safe, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels seen, valued, and capable
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate instruction aligned to Oregon standards and responsive to the individual strengths and needs of students
- Foster student growth as dynamic learners, communicators, innovators, and advocates in alignment with Mapleton’s Portrait of a Graduate
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and community partners to support student success and belonging
- Utilize trauma-informed, restorative, and inclusive practices that support emotional regulation, positive behavior, and student well-being
- Collaborate with staff and families to support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs within inclusive learning environments
- Differentiate instruction and provide multiple pathways for students to access learning
- Use assessment data, observation, and student work to guide instruction and communicate student progress regularly with families
- Participate actively in collaborative professional learning and contribute positively to Mapleton’s connected school culture
- Support a growth mindset culture where perseverance, curiosity, creativity, and kindness are celebrated
